Cambo

Sometimes it is tough being Camden. Most of our friends don't have kids his age (thank heavens for JD!) There aren't any boys in his primary class that go to our school, in fact they both go to charter schools and neither of them are interested in the things Camden is interested in. Camden is also at times a little sensitive and a little bossy. He is just at that hard age and so a lot of the times gets stuck with me while Addison and Easton are playing with friends (which they have a ton of options. I guess everyone I know had kids the same time I had them!) I love spending time with my Cambo. Camden will ask me the most in depth and thought provoking questions. He is a deep thinker and analyzes things. He is getting a little old for the park now, so while the kids play he would prefer to sit and chat with me, which I love! I am praying a new boy will move into the ward and that he will be a perfect fit for Camden. Until them I guess he will keep me on my toes with his deep thoughts. I guess I should of named him Jack Handy!

Snowboarding boys!

While we were in Reno for Christmas we went sledding. The boys were able to try out their cousins snowboard....wow was I shocked. After two or three tries, they had a hang of it. Easton was so persistent and went again and again. He made it a good 30 feet. Camden also did well. When Camden had a turn you could hear Easton from the bottom of the hill yell "Camden, I stayed up longer then you" Gotta love that brotherly love! Camden at one point said he was going to "shred it" down the hill! Where do they come up with these things!

Legos from Santa

Santa brought the boys Legos. They couldn't wait to put them together. Since we have Christmas at grandmas, they boys had to wait almost a full week until we got home to put them together. Wow, that was a long wait (for mom and the boys) We arrived home late one night and the next morning we were putting them together. Camden could do them alone, but I still "help" since he likes to speed through it. Easton still needs help, but I simply tell him what to put on next. He does all the work.

Easton with his rescue boat, truck and trailer!

Camden with his Star Wars ship (I am sure he knows exactly what the thing is called and I am getting it completely wrong. All I know: it is Star Wars)

I am in for trouble

Camden on Sunday had a new teacher. Although he loved loved loved his old teacher he liked the new one. He said he liked the new teacher better because the new teacher didn't even really teach! HA! (The new teachers are team teachers and the one that was suppose to teach had a filling fall out 1/2 hour before church, so they got an unplanned lesson) Here were some of the comments from the new teacher: Camden informed him he could wait to go to the bathroom for 3 whole hours. Camden also was asked a question to which he replied, "I will give you 3 answers. Only one will be correct, you guess which one" What? Who does that? I think the teachers are going to have a great time with this class. One other child raised his/her hand and said, "my mom has a friend with only one ear, the other side is just a hole". I guess they haven't quite learned at the age of 6 to only think about the topic (this week was sharing) and only comment on that subject. Let's all pray that Camden's teachers survive....and let's hope that I survive his teenage years.

Cam Graduates (a month ago)

Yes Camden is now a 1st grader! I can't believe it. He is getting so grown up! School got out around the 20th of May but our summer has been so busy that I am just now getting the pictures loaded. My camera was about to die, so I got very few pictures to choose from.

The entire kindergarten (all 5 classes or so) put on a great little program. They sang a few songs and there was a slide show.

Camden appeared bored throughout the entire thing. Although he sang, he didn't look very happy about it!
He was so bored that quite a few times I found him yawning! The graduate receives his diploma! Great job Cam. You have learned to read, do much harder math then ever before and attended your first year of computers and P.E. I know you will love 1st grade.
Saying goodbye to Mrs. Cornwall. She collects frogs and has thousands of them in her classroom. Cam is still growing his hair out and loves that it is not a buzz cut!

He's Cute!

The other night I was at the ball field to watch another baseball game. The boy's had just finished their game (with Addie being so darn good in the dugout for an hour). It was now time for Brooke's game, so I decided to let the little kids play on the play set for a little bit. The boys rushed off ahead of me and while I trailed behind I pass by these two little girls. They had just passed Camden, Easton and their friend. One little girl, looking like a Shirley temple, said "He's Cute". The boys then yell that they need to go in the bathroom on the way to the slide. We all stop at the bathrooms, with me waiting outside. The two girls run up and "hide" in the girls bathroom. The friend comes out, and the girl's peek out the door. Easton comes out next. The girls walk out, see me, and say "oh I forgot something" and run back inside. Then Camden comes out and the girl's come out giggling "we were spying on you" and then run off. I tell Cam the girl's thought he was cute, he grins a little shy and runs off to the playground. I couldn't help but thinking....what a smart little girl!
(by the way...this picture was taken before Camden's front teeth fell out. They hung on for dear life. This first one was his "buck tooth" for a day and the other one was a twister. He could twist it completely around and it still wouldn't fall out. Luckily the boys started wrestling and out it popped!)

camdens room update

Ok...so keep in mind I still haven't had a chance to have Neil show me how to rotate this picture....so this is the view as you come into Camdens room...It is a picture of three vintage tractors...behind this will is his closet.
Again imagine turned...these are the cutouts in his wall for his tractor collection and the fry pan? Neils Grandpa made a clock with it and the picture on it is an old tractor! You can also see part of his shelves in his closet...we haven't gotten closet doors, trim, carpet or blinds/curtains/drapes! It's an ongoing process
View from his door...Camden has a tiny room...it was suppose to be my sewing room...but Easton wanted his room downstairs with the big kids....so Camden chose the small Cowboy room over the big baseball room...and I got a big sewing room upstairs!
View of his bed and dresser!

You can see the faux finish on the wall...totally looks suede but it isn't and the chair molding is really rope! I will also explain the carpet situation. We moved in to this house with the basement unfinished....but we have now finished the three bedrooms and the bathroom....we are waiting to get carpet when the entire basement is finished so that it all matches and flows. So for now we have leftover carpet from upstairs and remnants in the basement. I decided I wanted grass out back before new carpet...so we enjoy the stuff we have for now! Also to come on the wall with his bed and dresser we are going to try to write a word with the rope....like buckaroo or something...let me know if you have any great ideas to decorate either room (Kimberly....this means especially you since this is what you went to school for)!

Fast food anyone?

Yesterday while getting ready for church Camden comes in my room and says, "mom, is today fast food Sunday?" While supressing a giggle I reply,"No, it's not bud" He says, "Good, cause I am starving"! You know, cause my 6 year old fasts sooooo much! (aka never)! Gotta love myboy!

It's Out

After a month of a loose tooth, with a kid that doesn't want to wiggle it, Neil finally pulled out Camden's tooth! It is his first! Camden was very excited!
